Two families, Isautier from Reunion Island and Wiehe from Mauritius, shared their respective know-how in the agricultural domain to create a modern distillery centred on the rum's production.
The rum is produced since the last 2008 quarter in the north of Mauritius, in the Domaine Labourdonnais - one the oldest agricultural exploitation of the island still in activity, administered by the Wiehe family for more than 150 years.
The Isautier family is, for its part, established since the eighteenth century in the Reunion island, where they produce rum since about 165 years.
