The Corporate, International and Investment Banking Division of the Bank, through its team of highly competent and experienced professionals, provides comprehensive financial solutions to its business customers in Mauritius, across geographical borders and industrial portfolios. These include traditional banking products and commercial loans, working capital finance, trade finance facilities and structured finance facilities (trade and non trade) in both local and foreign currencies. This division also provides “Asset Finance” commonly known as “Finance Lease” for the financing of specific fixed assets, namely motor vehicles and other equipment. The Structured finance business covering originating, structuring, and financing operations involving large-scale exports and investments in Mauritius and abroad, is totally customer centric. Global Business Mauritius offers the benefit of a businessfriendly but also a well regulated centre and a low tax jurisdiction with an extensive tax treaty network. The island has Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs) with 34 countries (7 awaiting ratifications) which benefit the Global Businesses. The Global Business unit of SBM is an integral part of the Corporate, International and Investment Banking Division.
