The group's history began with the opening
of a few DIY stores in France. Bernard Ivernel, initially an employee
of the Croissandeau hardware store in Orléans, created his DIY store in
Valenciennes. At the initiative of Bernard Ivernel, a few pioneers created ANPF, the
Association Nationale des Promoteurs du Faites-le-vous-même (The
National Association of DIY Promoters). This association included 13
members at the time, directors of the first DIY stores in France. Their
aim: meet the expectations of DIY fans by proposing just the products
they need for their works. The association also aimed to obtain the best
products and the best rates by working together. 10 years after
founding the association, the ANPF boasted 96 stores throughout France.Bernard Ivernel and his wife left the north to return to their home
region. They opened a DIY store in Fleury-les-Aubrais (to the north of
Orléans) under the name "Faites Vous-même". This store employed 12
people and covered a surface area of 700 m².The offices of the ANPF occupied the premises adjacent to the Faites
Vous-même store in Fleury-les-Aubrais. This proximity allowed the group
to constantly base its operations on professional trends, plan for
problems and monitor needs and changes.Today the store is one of the leading names in
specialised DIY distribution in France with 600 outlets in France and 52
sales outlets around the world. The group can boast more than 12,000
employees, 1,620,000 m² and 2.1 thousand million euros in turnover. Our
policy has always been to provide a local service.N°1 on the medium-sized town segment,

inhabitants and aims to lead in these segments.
