Duco Speciality Coatings has established itself as a well-known and trusted supplier of high technology paint finishes for the South African transportation, industrial, wood and packaging industries.
While it has traditionally served the automotive market since 1965, its expanded offerings include a wide range of world class technologies with key focus on value-added services.
After operating for several years under the Dulux banner the company split into two autonomous entities in 1999. Dulux in Durban as the 'decorative' business and AECI Coatings as the 'technical' business in Port Elizabeth, the Chemserve group took over a controlling share of AECI Coatings business in 2001.
In June the company name was changed to Duco Speciality Coatings in order to establish a more recognizable brand identity in the coatings industry.
In 2009 Duco promoted strategic changes by closing its manufacturing facility in Port Elizabeth and transferring local production range of products to Johannesburg where the Head Office and majority of business is located.
With higher focus into the supply-chain, Duco has warehouses located close to harbours and main customers in order to improve response and services.
Duco has been focused and well placed to service the coatings industry by not only providing a technologically advanced range but also as a committed partner in coatings solutions.
