It was some ten years ago that Roland Seidel bought the wine farm,
then known as De Leeuwenjagt, with the intention of not only creating
wines of superb quality, but also of enhancing the greater farming
community. It is with this holistic viewpoint that the success of the
farm has been structured.
It is the Seidel-team mission statement
to enhance and grow everything and everyone by tapping into the
potential that is manifest.
From the terrain, that needed
enrichment, to the community that was sadly neglected, the Seidel- team
can proudly attest to a successful redefinition of the original farm.
The
wines are world recognized and enjoy exposure in over 25 markets. This
success is largely due to the spirit of teamwork that Roland Seidel has
created within the farming community and amongst his carefully selected,
and hugely insightful marketing force.
Many of the marketing
representatives that work in the tasting room today were sadly neglected
and lost to the other vital, but rather mundane functions of the farm
such as operating the labeling line, or cleaning the kitchen of the
restaurant. Today, these young women enjoy huge exposure at the
forefront of the business and are the ambassadors of this estate – the
direct link to the customers that visit us. Roland Seidel has created
opportunities for many of the tasting room, formerly disadvantaged
people, to travel overseas, to attend courses and to manifest great
financial rewards for them too.
