PetroSA is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of the Republic of South Africa. It has a reputation for producing high-quality and environmentally-friendly products. PetroSA has built the world’s largest and first commercial Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) plant at Mossel Bay, South Africa. From this plant, the company produces synthetic fuels and high value products converted from natural methane-rich gas and condensate using GTL Fischer Tropsch technology which is recognized for producing clean fuels.The core business activity of PetroSA is: the exploration and production of oil and natural gas; the participation in and acquisition of local, as well as international upstream petroleum ventures; the production of synthetic fuels, procured from offshore gas at the world’s largest commercial Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) plant; the marketing and trading of oil and petrochemicals; and the storage of crude oil on behalf of the Strategic Fuel Fund.Some of the commodities produced by PetroSA include leaded & unleaded petrol, kerosene (paraffin), diesel propane, liquids (oxygen / nitrogen), distillates, eco-fuels and alcohols.
