Wings and Wishes is committed to facilitating the comfortable and life saving transport of critically ill children and their accompanying family member to Red Cross Children’s hospital or a suitable medical facility on the recommendation of their medical support team. Hertz assists with vehicles where needed.Hertz provides a meet & greet service to the patient at the relevant airports, a mercy pack is provided to make their stay in hospital more comfortable.
They provide comprehensive treatment for abused children at the child-friendly, one stop kidz clinics, as well as: Prepare abused children for court procedure to prevent secondary trauma to the child, abuse prevention education programme, Run a Youth Development Programme for the counselling of juvenile sex offenders, Run like skills workshops for teenagers, call Young Champions. Monitor court cases involving the violation of children. Highlight the often inappropriate sentences handed down to perpetrators of child abuse, through protests and media exposure and lobby Government departments to uphold the rights of the child, and advocate increased child protection legislation.
Hertz is a principal sponsor and as such provides the Vulindlela project team complimentary transport to travel across the nine provinces. The project reaches into rural areas and townships, promoting career opportunities in aviation to Previously Disadvantaged Communities. OPEN AFRICA is a Section 21 Public Benefit Organisation under the patronage of Nelson Mandela. It has been in existence since 1995, at which time it proclaimed the vision to link the splendours of Africa in a continuous network of tourism routes from the Cape to Cairo. Their primary aim is to create jobs, but there are many other objectives linked to this, in what is a holistic systematised project to galvanise the continent around the common purpose of protecting and sustainability utilising what are both it greatest strength and most precious resources, namely its nature and cultural assets. Hertz have sponsored 2 vehicles to Team Africa in support of the endeavours to grow job opportunities through tourism.
